The New Foundation for Thriving Communities
About Our Nonprofit
The New Foundation for Thriving Communities is the registered nonprofit that powers this project. We’re an Illinois nonprofit corporation and a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity. EIN#: 39-3296899
Our first project—Phase One—is New Foundation Farms, a 30×100-foot greenhouse designed to produce ~50,000 pounds of food per year. Every dollar raised and every dollar earned through this farm is reinvested directly into expansion. One greenhouse leads to two, two lead to four, and the growth compounds. Over time, this model reduces the cost of groceries, and later, will help fund renewable energy, water, and other essentials to lower monthly bills.
We don’t pay salaries to board members, staff, or laborers.
Nobody in this nonprofit receives monetary compensation. Every contribution—whether cash, materials, or volunteer time—goes straight into building and expanding the work.
If you want to see the bigger picture of how this all fits into the Thriving Local Economy Model, and dig into the deeper details, visit our upcoming TLE website to explore the full roadmap.
