Why This Farm Matters
Food prices keep rising, making it harder for families to consistently afford fresh, healthy produce. By growing food locally in a clean greenhouse, we can reduce transportation costs, improve freshness, and provide food people can trust. This farm is about making healthy, affordable, locally grown food more accessible to our community.

A Real Solution, Built Right Here at Home
We’re building a 30 by 100 foot hydroponic greenhouse right here in Johnston City to grow fresh leafy greens year-round for our community. By growing food locally in a clean, controlled environment, we can provide healthier, more traceable produce while helping reduce the costs tied to transportation and outside supply chains. This is a practical first step toward making fresh food more affordable and accessible for local families.
What Makes This Possible
Projects like this become possible when people, businesses, and local organizations come together around a shared goal: making healthy, affordable food more accessible for our community. Every donation, material contribution, volunteer hour, and shared conversation helps move this greenhouse closer to reality. This farm will be built by the people who believe Southern Illinois deserves better access to fresh local food.
